Mark Manson writes as fluid as the the best TED talker’s can speak. He explains why we experience problems the way we do in a very easy and accessible way. in the first part of the book he tries to grab your attentions with funny stories after which he really gets into the purpose of this book, which you can find out for yourself ;).
He tells and explains very thoroughly but also in a very structured way to make sure you don’t lose him along the way. This book isn’t going to make your problems magically disappear, instead it might hep you tackle them.
while reading you will most probably encounter some confronting thought about the way you approach or handle certain problems, creating numerous; ‘wait, but I do that as well, and that’s actually pretty dumb’ moments.
If you have ANY interest in improving mentally or as a person (since he really goes into the values we CHOOSE for ourselves and how they affect us and the people around us) in any way whatsoever this is definitely a good start, means or end to achieving that goal.
You might think; ‘well it just sounds like taking a lecture on self-awareness and stuff’, well that’s sort of true but than in the best and most fun way possible.
I am planning to read the book during different stages of my life (lets say every 5 years or so) since think it contains pieces of advice that can be interpreted and applied in different ways depending on the situation you find yourself in.

What great reminders there are in this book. Ultimately, in the end, all the things we think that matter don’t really matter. The material things only set us back. What matters most are the things that are intangible: integrity, honesty, and love. I really appreciate how Mark was so honest with his writing, and I appreciate how authentic his writing is. There’s no sugarcoating to anything he says. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for helpful advice and a good laugh!

What should be your purpose to read this book?
If you think this a self help book that will help you learn how to not give a F*ck about things, be ready for some twists. This book is more about how to know what to give a F*ck about. The autor has done a great job of pointing out your obvious but unrecognised mistakes you make everyday.
Now although the book is great and well spoken of, we all know that no book ever is perfect…
1) Sounds silly but the initial chapters of the book will make this book feel like a joke. Not because of the content delivered, but the amount of times the writer uses the word F*ck to make it “so called” funny and engaging. I literary googled how many times he used the word.
2) The books delivers the content it’s titled up to 6-7 chapters after which it feels like he unnecessarily talked about relationship stuff and his life as he lived possibly to make it a 200 page book. Being a cover to cover reader, I just felt like one shouldn’t waste time reading the last two chapters.
Here’s my final score :
Condition of book : 10/10 (Matte finish)
Readability : 9/10 (Won’t feel bored)
Valuable content : 7/10 (Personal opinion)
Practicality : 8/10
Use of the word F*ck : 100/10
Would recommend reading : Yes

I have learnt a lot fromt this book, it is an amazing read and a great book for people practicing self-improvement. Overall I would say it is most suited for people who lack confidence or do not have a goal in life. This book helps.

I was really triggered by reading the first chapter and thought it would be a non-self-help-book. Unfortunately after that there came the tips and advises on how to live your life. Different angle than a lot of other self help books but aiming for the same thing; becoming a better version of yourself. Yuck. I was really expecting something refreshing.
