I bought 3 of these for my grandkids (8, 11 and 17) who thought they were awesome. But found my son, daughter-in-law and a friend (30s – 50s) playing with them. The friend headed to the Amazon store to buy some for her family.

Small! They are very small.
And also pretty difficult to maneuver (fold/unfold) which can cause frustration and little “reward” when a more elaborate shape is built.
Be prepared to buy at least 2 to start having something to play for more that 5 minutes, and at least 4 to be able to make all the shapes in the instruction leaflet.

Kids from 5 to 65 loved these. I now have 6 of these to enjoy (especially with my husband of 40 years).
My 5 yr old twins, 12 yr old, 14 yr old and 18 yr old grandkids LOVED these. Especially putting them together to make bigger more intricate designs. My kids also (Late 30’s) all loved these. I believe there are about 12 moving around the family and everyone takes a pic or video to send me when they do something different (then we all try it!). what an amazing little fidget toy! My 10 y/o nephew saw this item in a store and fell in love. Several months later, this toy was still on his mind when making his list for Santa! Any toy that has that kind of staying power in this day and age must be special. Since receiving it as a present, he has played with it every day. The colors are vibrant and it feels sturdy and solid. I would recommend this toy for anyone who likes fidget items!

The shape shifting box was a gift for my grandson. He has Autism and ADHD. He could quickly open the box and make different shapes. It is the perfect weight and size for child or adult. The picture was beautiful. It is magnetic and well made. It had multiple colors and scenes on each side and functioned well to keep him busy. His only problem was he kept having to take it away from the grownups who wanted to play with it.

I was sold on this item by an ad i saw online. I was looking for a christmas stocking suffer for my daughter.
Turns out the shashibo is one of the coolest toys I’ve ever played with. My daughter loves it. It makes for the perfect stocking stuffer or birthday gift. Great for all ages. It’s both a fidget and a brain tease. The ingenuity and creativity of this toy will blow your mind. Who knew geometry could be so much fun? Highly recommend.
I will note, upon seeing the device for the first time I thought it was a bit small. I was expecting rubix cube size but its a bit smaller. Once the device opens up and configures into all its different shapes, the size concern disappeared. Once open it can double in size and becomes even more impressive when you see what this little cube is capable of. Don’t miss out on this toy.
One more note. We just got this item so it’s new. The device feels solid and well build, however I am curious about the long term durability with heavy use. The joints appear to be held together by the print material, I cant tell if theres a hinge mechanisn, so I’m not sure about it’s wear and tear strength.
